Cruz vs. Garbrandt in the works for UFC 207

Although not officially announced by the UFC, it looks like Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt will fight for the bantamweight title at UFC 207 on December 30th. The Las Vegas fight card is headlined by women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey, who returns to the octagon for the first time since Holly Holm brutally defeated her at UFC 193 The last fight current Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz(22-1-0) lost was in March 2007, via submission against Urijah Faber. At the beginning of the year Cruz took the belt from T.J. Dillashaw at UFC Fight Night 81 and then successfully defended it against Urijah Faber in June at UFC 199. Cody Garbrandt(10-0-0) is undefeated in his professional career and won all but one of his fights via (T)KO. Faber’s teammate ‘No Love’ called out Cruz, after he had knocked out Takeya Mizugaki in 48 seconds at UFC 202 in August – 13 seconds less than it took Cruz to defeat Mizugaki. However, the UFC’s plans for former T.J. Dillashaw, who was running for a title shot as well, remains unclear.
