Herb Dean to referee McGregor vs dos Anjos at request of RDA’s camp

  It was announced by Ariel Helwani late last night that Rafael dos Anjos and his manager Ali Abdelaziz had requested to the Nevada State Athletic Commission that popular referee Herb Dean would officiate his March 5th title bout against Conor McGregor, and it seems their wish was granted:  

I was told @RdosAnjosMMA and his manager @AliAbdelaziz00 specifically requested @HerbDeanMMA to ref the 3/5 title fight. They got their wish

  Herb Dean is a veteran MMA referee and regarded as one of the best in the business, he has even fought in the cage himself amassing a 2-3 record. UFC President Dana White has gone on record saying that "When Herb Dean does shit, I don't even question it anymore. I wait for the replay. This guy sees shit that I can't see sitting there watching the monitor." UFC 196 takes place on the 5th of March at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
