Tomorrow night KSW takes over Dublin City. WHOATV will be cage side for the spectacle from beginning to end and will be keeping you updated with the whole thing. If you still don’t know why you should watch, here is a few reasons.
- Mateusz Gamrot vs Norman Parke: In what has become a grudge match, the last time these two went at it was at KSW 39 for the lightweight belt. In the second round Gamrot intentionally bit Parke’s finger and still ended up winning the fight. Needless to say, everyone involved was not happy with the decision and when the opportunity came to have a rematch, KSW 40 was the perfect choice.
- The spectacle: One of the most notable things about KSW is their production. KSW 39 had a Gladiator theme with the show being titled the Colosseum so who knows what the theme and stage production will be like for this but it will always be memorable.
- €10: That’s right folks, you heard me correctly. The price of the PPV is €10, not 20 or 30 just a tennar. Get your mates around to the house, pizza beer and a PPV for less than €50 between the lot of you, why do you even need convincing. There are still a few tickets left but not many so if you’re interested in being there in person then don’t wait around.
- The second biggest MMA attendance ever: The last time KSW were on the air they put on the second biggest MMA show of all time surpassing any UFC show. It will be hard to top that but coming off the back of it they will have it in the back of their heads putting this show together. It also goes to show just how big the promotion is and how mainstream the sport has become in about 25 years.
- The card is stacked: Normally known for their freakshow like fights which, let’s be honest, if you look at MMA historically that’s what made the sport so likable. As time goes on however KSW are becoming more known for their quality of fighters. We’ve already mentioned Gamrot/Parke but also you have Konrad Iwanowski/Paul Lawrence opening the show which has the potential to be fight of the night. Chris Field’s and Paul Redmond returning to action, Lipski/Morais for the women’s flyweight belt is another one worth watching. I reckon Materla/Thiago will be fight of the night, lots of talent and experience in this one and last put certainly not least the main event, Pudzianowski/McSweeney promises to be a clash of giants.
That’s our list, check out KSW 40 this Sunday on PPV. WHOA TV will be bringing you all the behind the scenes and goings on surrounding the event. Let us know your thoughts on Facebook and Twitter.
