Marloes Coenen vs. Julia Budd for Inaugural Bellator Featherweight World Title

March 3rd Bellator MMA is writing history – For the first time ever the promotion’s women’s featherweight world title will be on the line. Marloes Coenen(23-7) and Julia Budd(9-2) clash inside Winstar World Casino & Resort in Thakerville, OK, to determine the undisputed Bellator 145-pound champion. Dutch submission specialist Marloes Conen, when starting as a professional, went straight on a eight-fight winning streak – of her first 14 bouts she only lost one and of her 23 career wins, 20 were finishes. After already owning a Strikeforce Bantamweight title, the 35-year-old ‘Rumina’ now looks to take home the Bellator MMA belt. ‘The Jewel’ Julia Budd enters the contest in March riding a seven-fight winning streak. The former Strikeforce competitor has recorded victories in each of her first three bouts und Bellator MMA and has surrendered just two losses over her seven-year career – one at the hands of former UFC champion Ronda Rousey and one under current UFC champion Amanda Nunes. The 33-year-old Canadian is undefeated since 2011 and is in search of her first career world title.
