On November 26th, Essex champion Martin J. Ward will defend his British Super-Featherweight title against Scotsman Ronnie Clark at The SSE Arena, Wembley, live on Sky Sports. In September, unbeaten Ward won his 17th professional bout and claimed the vacant Lord Lonsdale belt with an eight round stoppage win over Andy Townend at The O2 in London. Eddie Hearn said about his protégé: “September 10 was a big win for Martin and now he can really get his teeth into the division. We know Ronnie and his team are going to give everything but Martin has to look good as he continues to move up the level. You only have to look at Jason Sosa vs. Stephen Smith last week to see where you need to be, it’s a fierce division but a very exciting one.” In the other corner stands Dundee man Clark, who is in top form – three stoppage wins in his last four fights and landing his first title, the Scottish Area strap, in March, speak for itself. In Wembley we will further see amateur sensation Katie Taylor’s pro debut against Karina Kopinska, the must-win Super-Lightweight bout Tommy Coyle vs. Wayne Hibbert, Ohara Davies who challenges WBC Silver Super-Lightweight belt holder Andrea Scarpa, Reece Bellotti and Ian Bailey fighting for the English Featherweight crown, as well as well-known names like Conor Benn, and more.
