Last Saturday night’s UFC 205: Alvarez vs. McGregor not only went down in in MMA history as the global brand’s first ever event in New York City, but also secured various other records - To quote big boss Dana White: “Sitting here tonight we broke every record in UFC history tonight. Every record!”

With 2.4 million viewers on Fox ‘Fighting for History’ lived up to its name and became the most viewed UFC-preview show ever. Moreover, UFC 205 was one of the UFC’s most viewed PPV events and the PPV prelims were the most viewed in FS1 history for M18-49 and P18-49. Finally, on social media 14 billion impressions of the event were shared – more than ever before in UFC history.
Attendance:
With 15,480 fans attending the weigh-in, a global UFC record was set, 20,427 spectators broke the domestic UFC record.
Revenues:
UFC 205: Alvarez vs. McGregor goes down in history as the highest performing closed circuit(Commercial PPV) regarding location as well as gross revenue. The $17.7 million collected gate money smashed the UFC’s and even Madison Square Garden’s record, while the event also reached the highest U.S, event retail performance in UFC history.
