With just under two and a half weeks to the highly anticipated UFC 205 card in New York, Belal Muhammad (10-1) has a new opponent for his welterweight bout in Madison Square Garden.
Muhammad’s original opponent, Lyman Good has become the latest member of the UFC roster to be flagged up by USADA for a potential anti-doping violation and finds himself provisionally suspended from fighting.
Due to this, Ultimate Fighter 21 contestant, Vincente Luque (10-5) has stepped up as a short notice replacement. The Blackzillians fighter is 3-1 inside the octagon and currently on a three fight win streak, suggesting that he will no doubt be a tough opponent for the 28 year old.
Muhammad boasts an impressive professional record of ten wins with only one loss and has fought twice for the promotion. He is currently 1-1 inside the UFC, defeating Augusto Montano via TKO last month at UFC Fight Night 74 in Hidalgo, Texas. His only career defeat came in his UFC debut against Alan Jouban in July when he lost via unanimous decision.
UFC 205 takes place on November 12th at Madison Square Garden, New York and is headlined by Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez against Featherweight champion Conor McGregor as he aims to be the first consecutive two weight world champion in the history of the UFC. Two other titles will be on the line also, with Tyron Woodley defending his welterweight crown against Stephen Thompson and the women’s strawweight belt on the line as Joanna Jedrzejczyk faces fellow Polish fighter, Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
