CM Punk to Debut Against Mickey Gall at UFC 203

Former WWE star Phil Brooks, more popularly known by the name of his wrestling persona 'CM Punk' will make his long awaited debut at UFC 203 against Mickey Gall in Cleveland on 10th Sept.

Brooks' path to entering the Octagon has been a long one. The former professional wrestling superstar first announced he had signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC in 2014. But since then a number of set-backs including two long-term injuries have prevented his debut. Today however, it was finally announced that he would face Mickey Gall, a 2-0 fighter spotted by Dana White on his Fight Pass reality show, Looking for a Fight. Gall publicly called out CM Punk on the show after his victory in front of White and former UFC Welterweight Champion, Matt Serra. Brooks, who has been training under Duke Roufus, has never competed in mixed martial arts before at either an amateur or professional level lacks the collegiate wrestling background of someone like Brock Lesnar, so it is a mystery the level of skill and athleticism he will bring to the UFC, but will still surely bring in viewers in their droves.
