GSP ‘Ready’ for UFC Return

Former UFC World Welterweight Champion George St-Pierre has announced he is 'ready' to return to The Octagon in an interview with journalist Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour. Following his hard-fought decision victory over Johnny Hendricks in 2013, George 'Rush' St-Pierre informed the world in his post-fight interview that he intended to take a break from the sport, much to the chagrin of UFC President Dana White. Shortly after, the Canadian announced his temporary retirement, and relinquished his UFC title. In his time away from the Octagon, GSP took up acting roles in both Captain America: Vengeance and the reboot of the Kickboxer franchise. Many speculated that, despite rumours to the contrary, the former champion would never return to competition, including Dana White who believed he was "finished" as a fighter. Never the less, St.Pierre maintained his training regimen throughout his sabbatical, and helped prepare his Tristar teammates for their own bouts including, most recently, Rory MacDonald. With GSP's news on The MMA Hour, attention will now turn to his first potential opponent with Robbie Lawler, Conor McGregor and Michael Bisping all being touted as candidates.
