The UFC shocked the world of MMA by announcing that
Brock Lesnar would return to compete in the sport at
UFC 200. In honour of this unexpected comeback, the promotion have released complete footage of his dominant win over
Frank Mir at UFC
100.
Frank Mir was the first fighter to welcome Brock Lesnar to the UFC, and famously caught out the enormous All-American wrestler with a knee-bar in the first round of their first fight.
Their much anticipated rematch at the UFC's historic hundredth numbered event was characterised by a lot of bad pre-fight blood between the two men. Mir's wit had quickly pierced Lesnar's pro-wrestling honed armour, and he was plainly intent upon taking his one-time conqueror down a peg.
On the night, Lesnar got his revenge and then some. After some early joy on the feet for Mir, as soon as the huge wrestler put the BJJ man on his back, it was all but over.
Completely pinned, Mir ate shot after shot until the referee mercifully called a stop in the second round, with Lesnar's post-fight taunting and general conduct drawing boos from the crowd.
Mir vowed revenge, but the rematch never happened due to his opponent's illness and ultimate retirement. Given how completely Hunt dominated Mir in their recent bout, Lesnar can expect to face a completely different level of challenge upon his return to the Octagon.
