Werdum: McGregor Is a Ghost and a Whore!

The UFC World Heavyweight Champion, Fabricio Werdum, may have been busy preparing to defend his title against Stipe Miocic in Curitiba, Brazil, this week, but he still had time to give his opinion on Featherweight title holder Conor McGregor, calling him a "ghost" and a "whore". It's fair to say that UFC Featherweight Champ Conor McGregor is not the most popular fighter in Brazil. The Irishman baited the country every bit as much as his opponent Jose Aldo in the run-up to their clash at UFC 194, before claiming his belt in emphatic fashion. And, in spite of the of the fact that one of the most stacked cards of 2016 will go down at UFC 198 in Curitiba, Brazil tonight, all the talk has once again been about the Irishman as speculation mounts about a potential showdown with undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. As such, the man headlining tonight's event, Fabricio Werdum, shared his view on the outspoken Dubliner, and it's fair to say he is not impressed. Dismissing McGregor's trash-talking style as disrespectful, Werdum claimed that he had been exposed against Diaz, and that all future opponents would know how to fight him as his loss showed he was "not that good on the ground", before calling him a "ghost" and a "whore". Werdum's match against Miocic will be his first title defence since he claimed the belt from Cain Velasquez in Mexico City in June last year. The winner is expected to fight Alistair Overeem, who is on a four fight win-streak.
